Copy Connie Britton’s Black And White Dress Look For Less

Hello, ladies! We all love a good fashion faceoff in Hollywood, but what’s even better is scoring the same designer look for less. Several weeks ago, omg! by Yahoo held a fashion faceoff between Connie Britton, Olivia Wilde, and Erin Andrews. The three stars a Cushnie et Ochs Pre-fall dress worth $1,550. Take a look:

While Olivia Wilde wore a slightly different version of the dress, all three women styled it with minimal accessories, minus Ms. Britton’s big hat. But in her defense, her character, Rayna James on ABC’s Nashville, was at a polo match, so the outfit wouldn’t be proper for the occasion without an oversized hat.

I do love this dress (both versions of it), but it certainly comes with a steep price tag. However, I was shopping at Target over the weekend and realized that this dress by Mossimo is similar to the Cushnie et Ochs dress seen above.

I must admit that this photo does not do the dress any justice. The pattern and details are far more beautiful when you look at it in person. However, to help you see the details a better, take a zoomed in look at the top half of the dress:

Screen shot 2013-11-24 at 11.20.28 PMThe black line down the front of the dress and the black side panels create just as strong of a look as the black lines that run at the top and down the middle of Erin Andrews and Connie Britton’s dress. If you like the pattern but aren’t in need of a new dress, check out Target.com for more items with the same print.

Who do you think won the fashion faceoff? Will you be trying this new dress at Target?

Friday Favorites: Target’s Sequin Top

Happy Friday, ladies! Holiday party season is right around the corner, and what better way to dress up than wearing sequins. If you want a versatile and affordable sequin garment, check out Target‘s sequin top:

Mossimo Women's Cap Sleeve Sequin Top, $29.99

Mossimo Women’s Cap Sleeve Sequin Top, $29.99

While this is the ideal top for a holiday party, it can be worn with a variety of styles and for more than Christmas parties. A sequin top would look great with a colored pencil skirt, leather skirt, or dark colored skinny jeans. Wearing it to formal events, other parties, or even on a date night would look great.

Game Day Glam: Old Navy’s NFL Sweaters and Knit Hats

It’s game day, ladies! You know what that means. It’s time to get dressed in our favorite team’s colors and show our team spirit.

Old Navy has a wide variety of t-shirts and other apparel for college football and NFL teams in both the women’s and men’s departments. However, I am not a huge fan of women’s t-shirts that feature a team name or logo along with hearts, fake jewels, or other “girly things” on the shirt. Because of this, I tend to shop for my sports apparel in the men’s department at stores, and Old Navy has delivered with their men’s NFL collection.

Whether you are going to a NFL game today or watching from the comfort of your home, here’s something to help you feel warm and cozy. Take a look at these men’s NFL sweaters:

These would serve as a great layering piece to wear while trying to stay warm at a game. Plus, I like the slightly vintage look they have. The sweaters are on sale for either $30 or $35, depending on the team. Old Navy does not sell sweaters for every NFL team, but team name sweaters available online but not included in the picture are the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos.

To complete your layered and warm game day look, try one of these men’s beanies:

There’s a smaller number of team name beanies available on Old Navy’s website, with only the Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, 49ers, and Packers listed. While this beanie doesn’t make quite the same statement as a Packers Cheesehead hat would, the hat’s bright colors and pom pom on top will definitely flaunt your team spirit.

So whether you like a more feminine look for your NFL ensemble or opt for traditional gear, check out Old Navy’s complete selections for the whole family.

What’s your favorite football team? Would you wear these items to a game?

The item Glamour featured in this ensemble is the Trina Turk blazer. I like the sleek look of this outfit, especially how the black and white blazer adds an extra pop. However, priced at $498, this blazer is out of most people’s budgets. In case you’d like to recreate this look, I’ve found some affordable options for blazers.

Finding The Perfect Printed Or Colored Pants For Holiday Parties

Hello, ladies! Even though it is only early November, we all know we will be attending holiday parties this time next month. To get ahead of the game, take a look at these skinny jeans from JC Penney’s Joe Fresh to inspire your newest casual party outfit:

Joe Fresh Damask Print Skinny Jeans, $28.99

The pattern on these skinny jeans will make you stand out at any party. Since they are skinny jeans, they can be paired with heels, booties, or flats, to offer you a versatile party look. And they would look fabulous with a red shirt for Christmas.

I know, red is so typical for Christmas parties, but it’s tradition. However, there is nothing traditional about this red peplum top by Bisou Bisou, also from JC Penney, to pair with the pants:

If you want a second outfit for your casual party wardrobe, try these velour pants by Joe Fresh in dark pink:

While velour pants may not be practical for the office, a holiday party is the perfect place to sport these pants. They differ from the red skinny jeans every other girl will be wearing, thinking she is original. However, if you want a more subdued look that can be paired with a wide range of colors on top, try buying these in black or navy:

What do you think of these options for a holiday party? Which look is your favorite?

Friday Favorites: J.Crew’s Statement Colorblock Blouse

Happy Friday, ladies! I am eager to share with you this lovely colorblock blouse from J.Crew:

Colorblock silk foulard blouse, $128

While the black and white print in the middle of the blouse gives it a classic look, J.Crew mixes things up with a teal collar and blue cuffs on the sleeve with the same print. Here’s a closeup of the collar and cuffs:

This blouse epitomizes my favorite aesthetic: traditional with a modern twist. You can pair this blouse with a basic black pencil skirt or pair of dress pants but add some flair by wearing a bright pair of pumps. If you really want to be daring, try putting a teal or blue skirt or pair of pants with the top. Either way, you will turn heads in this statement blouse.

Are you a fan of this blouse? What do you suggest wearing with it?

The Perfect And Affordable Tuxedo Pants

Hello, ladies! Since it is the start of a new work week, I figured what better way to inspire you than with some black and white tuxedo pants to wear at the office. Check out these pants from Forever21:

Tuxedo Stripe Trousers, $22.80

Tuxedo Stripe Trousers, $22.80

Wearing these tuxedo pants will definitely get you noticed at work! The white line down the side of the pants creates an elongating effect, but you must wear the pants with heels. (Wearing flats with the pants will make you look shorter since they hit right above the ankle.)

Pair these tuxedo pants with a bright blouse and black blazer to look professional. You can take the blazer off after you leave the office and instead pair a chunky necklace with your blouse. Adding the accessory will transform the outfit into a fun look for going out with friends.

Forever21 offers other tuxedo pants that would be perfect for a party:

Must-Have Tuxedo Skinny Pants, $24.80

Must-Have Tuxedo Skinny Pants, $24.80

Minimalist Tuxedo Skinny Pants, $19.80

Minimalist Tuxedo Skinny Pants, $19.80

While the model shows that both pairs of pants look good with heels and a t-shirt, you could add some pop to the outfit by wearing a colored tee or sweater instead. Or, you could wear neutrals on top and pair colored heels with the pants. Either way, these skinny pants are probably too tight for the office, but you can wear them for a dressy look for another occasion.

Are you a fan of tuxedo pants? Will you be wearing them at work or on weekends?
